Jet Tec support National “Recycle Now” Week

Jet Tec, the UK’s largest manufacturer of compatible and remanufactured inkjets and toners, are pleased to confirm that they will be supporting National “Recycle Now” week between 20th and 27th June 2011. Jet Tec will be showing their support by running a recycling promotion for all Jet Tec dealers.

Each year, over 55 million inkjet cartridges are discarded to landfill. The plastic which is contained within the casing of a cartridge can take up to 1000 years to decompose. In order to decrease the amount of this plastic which goes to landfill, Jet Tec currently recycle approximately 700,000 inkjet cartridges and laser toners every month. They work closely with their sister company The Recycling Factory who collect inkjets, toners and mobile phones on behalf of a number of different charities and organisations.

Jet Tec offer their customers the opportunity to be part of the effective recycling scheme which can act as an extra revenue generator for their business. They provide all recycling materials which are personalised with a unique barcode and pick up full boxes of recycling, all free of charge. On return to Jet Tec, the recycled products are then recorded and a credit will automatically go onto the customer’s account. It is a simple and effective way of being part of the recycling scheme and benefits the environment as well as often proving lucrative for the dealer.

In addition to running such an efficient recycling scheme, Jet Tec continuously works to decrease their carbon footprint. Jet Tec is a wholly UK based company whereas many other manufacturers import products or parts from overseas, often from Asia. This results in import costs as well as having a huge impact on the environment. Jet Tec manufacture all products in the UK, resulting in a lower carbon footprint and lower emissions than competitors. Jet Tec has achieved the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) accreditation for their paper packaging materials and currently manufacture to the environmental standard ISO 14001. Jet Tec have recently been awarded the Blue Angel certification for environmentally friendly laser toners. In 2010, Jet Tec invested over £1 million in reroofing over 10,000m2 of the factory to achieve a more energy efficient facility. It is estimated that the new roof and roof lights will reduce energy needs by up to 50% over previous months.

Phil Sneath, Commercial Manager commented “We are an extremely environmentally-conscious company and by remanufacturing inkjets and toners, we offer an environmentally friendly alternative to OEM products. We are pleased to be supporting National “Recycle Now” week by encouraging our dealers to recycle with us, further benefitting the environment.”
